Case Sealer
Compare CASE SEALERS that come in two types, tape case sealers and glue case sealers. The in-feeding of cases can be manual or continuous and can handle uniform or random cases sizes. The selection depends on the need of the user.
Tape Case Sealer
Compare tape case sealer that have taken over the majority of the case sealing market. For certain applications case sealers using glue are still preferred. With semi-automatic case sealers, an operator loads each case. On some models he has to fold down the flaps and slide the case into the machine.
In automatic case sealers, the flaps of the case are open as it enters the sealer (top or bottom or both top and bottom). The minor tabs are pushed down first and then the major tabs are lowered as the tape is applied. The tape starts and ends about two inches past the ends of the major tabs.
The width of the tape needed is adjustable in most sealers. The larger and heavier the case, the wider the tape. Also, for cases where there is a gap when the main tabs are down, wider tape is recommended.
Glue Case Sealer
For glue systems, the glue is applied to the minor tabs. The large tabs are then folded down and held down in place for the glue the set. Glue case sealers are particularly recommended for cases where the main tabs have a space when folded down. For tape systems, the tape is applied once the large tabs are folded down.
