Tray Former
Compare TRAY FORMERS. A tray former offers cost effective tray forming solutions for many different tray packaging operations requiring shrink wrap. Historically, trays and tray formers were needed for product going on display. Now tray forming combined with shrink wrapping is becoming a preferred method of shipping many products. The tray is less expensive than a case. It weighs less which results in lower shipping costs. With shrink wrap, the product has greater visibility. These advantages apply to bottles, cans and boxes. Specialized trays and tray formers are made for meat, dairy and farm products.
Tray design uses either hot melt end flaps or are side or end slotted. Tray formers listed here use any of the closure methods mentioned.
Many bliss and fold over systems are available, particularly for display stands. These are custom and do not fit the type of tray formers listed here. The same companies, however all produce machines of that nature.
Tray width and tray length are the critical dimensions for a tray forming machine. The height of the tray is important in specifying the KD dimensions for the infeed The primary material for the trays is corrugated although cardboard can be used with many tray formers.
