Vision Measuring Systems
Compare VISION MEASURING SYSTEMS. The latest in vision measuring technology to be applied to the precision measuring of components. The vision measuring systems combine precision optics with computer power for precision measuring and observation. Vision systems in industrial application have been used for many years. The algorithms and software were developed in the 60 ties by NASA and the military for satellite inspection for defence. Over the years this technology was made public. This along with the increase in computer power at lower cost has made it a tremendous tool for many industrial and commercial application.
Vision measuring systems use the CCD imaging technology to inspect objects that are placed on a table similar to a microscope, but larger. The image is displayed on a computer screen. The system is capable of edge inspection or surface inspection. Most inspections are two dimensional. Limited three dimensional inspection is possible.
Vision measuring systems are primarily used in a laboratory enviroment. With color CCD cameras, inspection by color analysis or differentiation has added another tool to the great variety of inspection tools possible. Unlike with optical comparators, vision measuring system can come with large tables with long X and Y axis travel. The combination of camera and scanning table depends on the need of the user.
