Compare CONVEYOR SORTERS used fequently in a variety of conveyor layouts with different sorting methods and sorters. For sorting product on a high speed or conntinuous speed line, three methods are used.
1. Diverting shoes that slide between the conveyor plates and push the product at 20 to 30 degree angle from the conveyor. 2. Wheel diverters rise above the conveyor roller or belt surface to send the product at an angle onto slave spurs. 3. Pushers send product at 90 degrees off the conveyor belt For items 1 and 2, the sorting station is a complete conveyor section which has to be inserted in the conveyor system. The pushers in item 3 are separate modules that are attached to an existing conveyor.
A chute or spur has to be available to move the product as it is pushed from the conveyor. Some of the models listed come with a slaved spur or chute.
