Tank mounted compressors are free standing or portable compressors. The main use is for low volume applications. The power ranges from a fraction of a horsepower motor to over 10 hp.

Containers range in tank size capacity from a few liters (less than one gallon) to 600 liters (160 gallons).

The compressors are piston or rotary and most are oil injected. The piston compressor is the standard for this application, but screw compressors are gaining more popularity because of their reliability.

Depending on the application, air dryers and oil coalescing filters will be needed.

Capacity FAD is the measure of free air delivery.
