Rotary Screw Compressor, Oil Free

Compare ROTARY or SCREW OIL FREE COMPRESSORS. Oil free rotary screw compressors are the workhorses for oil free compressor applications. The water cooled rotary screw compressors provide oil free compressed air for those applications where the presence of oil is not permitted for health and safety reasons.

Even though the water helps to reduce the friction of the rotary screw compressor moving hparts, there is more wear. Particle filters are recommended at the output of rotary oil free compressors. Also, the air dryer capacity has to be higher than for standard rotary compressors.

As the air is drawn into the rotary screws, water is injected to absorb the heat generated by the friction between the screws as well as against the compressor housing. At the exit of the rotary screw compressor, a particle filter and an after cooler are usually standard. The compressed air must then be run through additional air drying systems.
