Compare Robot Gantry Palletizers. Robot gantry palletizers combine gantry palletizers with robot palletizing technology. The robotic method is simple overhead pick and place technology. The disadvantage is that it serves only a specific palletizing application. It does not have the flexibility of articulated arm robotic systems.
Due to the Cartesian coordinate nature of vertical, horizontal and forward/backward three (3) axes movement on gantry robotic palletizer arms, the Working Space is basically a regular hexahedron or cuboid.
The dimensions of the working space are bounded by three parameters:
1. The length of the gantry cross beam, upon which the arm moves forward and backward.
2. The length of the horizontal gantry beams, that sets the lateral limit of the arm.
3. The height of the vertical gantry beams, that sets the elevated limit of the arm.
