Compare INDUSTRIAL COOLING TOWERS. Cooling towers are the final step in removing industrial process heat. The cooling tower is located away from other industrial equipment to allow the cooling air or water to escape to the atmosphere. For smaller units, roof installation is acceptable.
The comparison list is limited up to 200 tons cooling tower capacity. Anything above this requires custom installation. Most companies listed here provide larger systems.
The main parameter for these systems is the amount of heat it is capable of removing. The common ratings are: tons, BTUs, or watts. One ton = 12,000 BTUs = 4000 watt-hour (4 kW hr). These are approximate values
The heat removal is achieved by blowing ambient air through the water. The evaporative effect transfers the heat to the air. In the process some of the water is lost to the air. Closed loop systems where the water runs through a radiator type heat exchanger are available below 100 ton capacity. These are good for confined spaces. The cooling tower structure can be steel, galvanized steel or even stainless steel. Recent cooling tower designs started using PVC and other plastics for the structure. Corrosion of the cooling tower structure is always a concern
