Turntable Stretch Wrap Machines consist of a mast that has a stretch film carriage and a turntable. The stretch film carriage rides up and down as film is wrapped around the load. The film carriage on a Turntable Stretch Wrap Machine uses two rubber rollers spinning at different speeds to pull and stretch the film before being applied to the load. Once the film is applied it attempts to rebound which results in tight and secure loads. Pre-stretch levels are typically between 50% and 300%. Larger pre-stretch levels will result in greater film savings but the rebound can damage fragile loads.

 Turntable Stretch Wrap Machines are available in two levels of automation.

Semi-Automatic Turntable Stretch Wrap Machines require an operator to place the load on the turntable with a forklift or pallet jack. Then the operator takes the film tail from the carriage of the Turntable Stretch Wrap Machine and attaches it to the load. Once attached the operator must activate the machine by pushing a button. Once the machine has completed the film application, the operator must tear the film from the machine carriage and remove the load from the turntable.

Semi-Automatic Turntable Stretch Wrap Machines are available in two configurations.

High Profile Semi-Automatic Turntable Stretch Wrap Machines have a turntable that is usually over 6 inched high and are designed to be used for forklift truck application They are also typically easier to maintain than low profile.

Low Profile Semi-Automatic Turntable Stretch Wrap Machines typically come with a ramp and are designed to be used with walkies or pallet jacks. Forklifts can be used to place loads on low profile machines but due to their low profile it can be difficult for operators to see the turntable causing them to hit the turntable or place the load off center.

Automatic Turntable Stretch Wrap Machines have power conveyors built into the turntable. These machines are placed in a conveyor system and electric eyes position the load as it comes down the line. Once in place the Turntable Stretch Wrap Machine attaches the film to the load and begins turning the load while applying film. Once the wrap is applied, the machine cuts the film from the carriage and sends a signal to the conveyor system allowing the load to continue down the line.  The entire process is completed without any operator intervention.
