Compare LABEL PRINTER APPLICATORS. A label printer applicator can be mounted on a conveyor to be the printer and label applicator system. Printing labels that use pressure sensitive tape. The applicator removes labels after printing fast and clean from the web and it does not need the glue application hardware.

The shape of the container and the location and size of the label are critical parameters. The most common container shape is round, with labels on one side, front and back, or wrapped around the container.

The second most common containers are cases, cartons, and pallets. These have flat surfaces but may apply labels on more than one side or around a corner. This configuration can also apply labels to the top and bottom of containers.

Another application is flat cases and clam shells that wrap a label from the under side to the top surface.

The speed of an applicator is measured in inches per minute. The printer quality is measured in dots per inch (dpi). The standard dpi is 300.
