Robotic Palletizer

Compare ROBOTIC PALLETIZERS. Robotic palletizers are 5 or 6 axis robots for palletizers or depalletizers. The increased use of robotic palletizers is due to the increased reliability and flexibility. Robots for case loading are also finding increased use.

Manufacturers offering robotic palletizers bring an advantage to the table. They are in the packaging business and better understand the needs of the customer. This goes for those manufacturers listed with specific models as well as those who only do customized machines. Usually they obtain their robots from one of the robot manufacturers listed separately.

By mounting the base of a robotic palletizer on the floor or upon a pedestal, horizontal and vertical envelope reference conditions are established. This leads to limits of minimum and maximum arm extension values. The working space or envelope of movement for a six (6) axes Articulated Arm palletizer is a complicated non-linear three dimensional shape.

In the horizontal axis of the robotic palletizer, the Horizontal Arm Extent Min value is the closest the end of the arm can be positioned in front of the mount vertical centerline. The Horizontal Arm Extent Max value, commonly referred to as Reach, is the furthest the end of the arm can be extended in front of the mount vertical centerline. The difference is the net horizontal arm movement.

In the vertical axis of the robotic palletizer, the Vertical Arm Extent Min value is the lowest the end of the arm can be positioned in front of the mount horizontal centerline. The Vertical Arm Extent Max value is the highest the end of the arm can be extended in front of the mount horizontal centerline. The difference is the net vertical arm movement. Note that the Vertical Arm Extent Min value can be a negative number. This condition defines location below the mount horizontal centerline.

A number of manufacturers make custom robotic palletizers only. They are: Beumer Corp; Chatland Co; FKILogitex and Schneider Equipment Inc.
